What
is a Vessel?
A vessel is often referred to as a tank. It is a unit that is used for mixing chemicals and other liquids or just for storage. A mixing tank is a container that is used to blend several components together. In most manufacturing facilities, a mixing tank is used to prepare materials that will be used in production.
Large
containers of raw materials are placed into a large mixing tank and are blended
into a smooth mix that can be used to produce a plethora of materials. In a
bakery environment, a mixing vessel will contain flour, yeast and water, all of
which are taken in specific amounts from various supply systems and placed into
the larger vessel to be mixed.

The material that a mixing tank is manufactured from can range from polymers to steel of all types. Typically, within the manufacturing industry, the steel material used is stainless steel. In certain applications fiberglass/fiberglass reinforced plastic, plastic, aluminium, metal alloys as well as glass-lined can be used. Stainless steel is often used in the creation of a mixing tank due to the ease of clean-up as well as the smooth surface of the product. Copper is sometimes used in the making of a mixing tank, however, due to copper's tendency to react adversely to certain chemicals it is used only in specific applications.
