Perry Process Equipment Ltd has the in-house expertise to fully refurbish any unit from our stock. All refurbishment work is completed by our own Engineering Specialist Team, at our Newton Aycliffe facility which makes the turnaround time minimal.

With a team of qualified, time served engineers, we can offer a range of in-house services for all purchased equipment, including:
  • Test run to establish electrical and mechanical integrity, hydraulic and vacuum testing, spark testing
  • Shot blasting, cleaning, painting
  • Third party inspections by authorised organisation
  • Full mechanical strip down and refurbishing to manufacturing standards including warranty where appropriate
  • Delivery, export packing and worldwide shipping with conformity to Incoterms

This year, we have refurbished and sold a 1,500L stainless steel ribbon blender to Sticky Baits, UK. The unit was inspected before refurbishment began.

The unit was stripped down and shot blasted in our purpose built facility. Following this, the unit was primed with a zinc-phosphate primer, as per the customer’s request. Our Engineering Team replaced all lubricants required and checked the integrity of all mechanical parts.

The completed unit ready for shipment.
Once completed, the unit was reassembled and a new frame was constructed. A full test run was carried out whilst witnessed by the customer. Sticky Baits, UK statement:
“The Ribbon blender was refurbished to an exceptionally high standard and was barely recognisable from the blender that we first viewed. Exceptional service and work from start to finish, Thanks!”

Global Presence, Local Support: Mitigating the risks of buying used equipment

Chemical and Pharmaceutical manufacturers often justify the purchase of used equipment for their operations on the basis of lower prices and faster delivery. These reasons are not a secret. Used process equipment can usually be purchased at prices that are up to 70% cheaper than new equipment. The equipment is typically available immediately, cutting lead-time for delivery by months. Even with this simple value proposition, saving time and money with used equipment, many manufacturers have never considered used equipment.

Perhaps you are worried about the risks of buying used production equipment. Risks could be:
  • Regulatory
  • Validation
  • Project
  • Supply
  • Performance
Talk to Perry Process Equipment to put your mind at rest. We have been supplying high quality used process equipment for 80 years and can substantially mitigate or eliminate your concerns.

Call one of our Sales Managers on 01325 315111 or email us: info@perryprocess.co.uk

You can further reduce the risks by working with reputable equipment dealers that only source equipment from other reputable pharmaceutical and chemical companies and develop strong relationships with original equipment manufacturers. A dealer with strong relationships within the manufacturing industry as well as with the OEMs means that a buyer is truly getting high-quality equipment that will impress customers. Leveraging the inventory available at a used equipment dealer can enable one’s new business development team to reliably source additional equipment required to win new projects. The equipment dealer should also be able to provide affordable back-up equipment fast or equipment for increased capacity when a customer demands additional supply. Most of the “risk” associated with the purchase of used equipment is easily managed by the in-house expertise possessed by manufacturers and contract manufacturing organisations (CMO), allowing firms to take advantage of the simple value proposition provided by used manufacturing equipment: saving time and money.

For over 80 years, Perry Group of Companies has been a trusted name in the pharmaceutical, chemical, food, plastics, paper, sugar, rubber, fishmeal and mining industries. With thousands of pieces of inventory in stock, Perry is dedicated to providing customers with quality used equipment, available immediately at competitive prices. Additionally, Perry offers a complete array of investment recovery and asset disposal services. These include appraisals, auctions and liquidations, equipment purchase and removal, as well as consignment sales.
With operations across the globe, whether you are manufacturing in Europe or in the United States, you are never far away from one of our facilities:

Read All About: Reactors

What is a Reactor?

A reactor is a device which is used to contain controlled chemical reactions. Reactions take place inside the Reactor, in conditions which can be monitored and controlled for safety and efficiency. These types of Reactors are used in the production of chemicals such as components of pharmaceutical compounds, and they can operate in several different ways. Reactors are stirred by rotating impellers for blending, dispersing or promoting heat transfer. In simple terms a Reactor mixes two products together to make a third, different product.
Stock NumberL0999-05 & L0999-06
Reactors can be designed as either tanks or pipes, depending on the needs, and they can vary in size considerably. For example, small bench-top chemical reactor designs are intended for use in labs while large tanks can be used to make chemicals on an industrial scale. The design also includes a variety of features which can be used to control conditions inside the reactor. Continuous chemical Reactors operate continuously, as long as the materials needed for the reaction are supplied. These are used to create a steady supply of a needed chemical. Continuous Reactors are commonly used in the manufacture of industrial chemicals, when the need for a chemical is high and very consistent.

 Perry stock Reactors:

Perry stock 100s of Reactors on site ranging from 5l to 100,000l. Reactors can be jacketed for heat transfer, agitated for proper mixing and rated for high pressure and temperature. A Reactor with no agitation system is termed as a "Reactor Body". Another type of Reactor is a Kettle, which is a Reactor built for no internal pressure or vacuum. The construction of material depends upon the corrosive nature and other chemical properties of the reactants. Materials can include: glass (used for lining), hastelloy, high alloy and stainless steel. Reactors can be used in a variety of applications including chemical processing, food and beverage production, paper and pulp processing, biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical and plastic processing.

We have many standard sizes and designs in stock, for immediate delivery.

Stock Number: L1048-01
Reactors can have excellent resistance to corrosion, smooth non-stick properties and non-catalytic inertness. They are designed for a high versatility in multiproduct applications, or are specialized to optimise a specific processing requirement.

We have recently moved a great deal of high specification and quality Reactors from two Global Pharmaceutical Manufacturers based in Europe, to our site. As we have been buying and selling used equipment for over 80 years, you can trust our expertise.
