2012 Year Overview

We are happy to announce that, even in an economic downturn, Perry Process Equipment Ltd had a successful business year in 2012. We had an increase in profits, hit our sales targets and added new staff, high quality stock and sites. We have also created new relationships within the industry to strengthen our position as the largest global dealer of quality used process equipment.

Highlights of 2012:

1. The Perry Group celebrated 80 years of business - Since 1932, we have been at the centre of the used process equipment and machinery world. Today we have one of the world's most extensive inventories of used equipment, with offices and agents worldwide, meaning that we can fulfil your equipment needs.

2. Richard Driver celebrated 25 years of service at Perry - On 16th November 1987, Richard Driver, Sales Manager began working for the Perry Group over in the USA. Three years later he returned to his native UK to establish the first European office, known as Perry Process Equipment Ltd.

3. Perry appoints new Sales Manager, Dan Smith - Dan joined Perry in August 2011, as a Sales Assistant. He quickly found his feet in our UK office being promoted to Sales Manager in October 2012. He is now responsible for managing sales in France whilst working closely with our Plant Co-ordinator.

4. Perry looks to the future - Perry understands that apprenticeships have the potential to create a wealth of new talent within UK businesses, whilst giving young people the work experience and training that they need to grow within the industry. This year, we took on two young apprentices, Paige Brittain in administration and Sam Burdett-Cann in engineering. We also employed two foreign undergraduates, from Germany and Turkey, as interns over the summer period. This gave them valuable experience within our industry. By virtue of this, we won the "Employer of the Year 2012" award from S&D training.

5. Perry’s training programme – Perry understands that the success of its business depends on having a good training program for its employees. Everyone is encouraged to partake. Even our MD is studying French to enable better business connections with our French customers and partners. In 2012, our Junior Buyer, Greg Lyons successfully passed the BTEC National Certificate in Operations and Maintenance Engineering. Currently, Nigel Thornton is attending Darlington College to gain his BTEC Certificate. All engineering and warehousing staff have completed recognised national qualifications, so that our standard of service to our customers is kept at a high standard.

6. Perry raised money for Breast Cancer Campaign - On Friday 26th October 2012, Perry raised funds for Breast Cancer Care. Perry staff participated in Wear It Pink Day, which involved pink attire and wearing superhero masks. Even our website went PINK for the day. We held a buffet and raffle, managing to raise a total of £277 in-house.

7. Perry exhibits globally - Every year we try to exhibit and attend the main exhibitions appropriate for our industry. In 2012, we exhibited at USETEC, Germany and PAM, UK and we have also attended ACHEMA, Germany gaining new contacts and introducing our business to new customers.

8. Perry teaches the next generation - In June, staff at Perry Process welcomed a class of Year 6 students from the local Aycliffe Village Primary School to our Newton Aycliffe site. The children had been studying science in the classroom but their visit to Perry Process allowed them to see how the experiments they performed translated into real-world situations.

9. Perry expands with new warehouse facilities - At the end of 2012, Perry Process acquired new warehouse facilities, totalling 40’000sqft, to stock our high quality equipment purchases. This recent growth within our business creates a positive outlook for 2013 and means that with an increase in stock, our customers can benefit. We are currently moving a great deal of high specification and high quality equipment from two Global Pharmaceutical Manufacturers based in Europe, to our site.

10. Last but not least – Perry starts blogging. In February 2012, we began our Perry Process blog to inform our loyal customers of important events and our latest deals.

We would like to thank our customers for their business and we are looking forward to working with everyone in 2013.

Bonne Chance, from all at Perry Process!
