Buying used process equipment shouldn't involve any risk. Just because it's cheaper than new doesn't mean it shouldn't work. Would you buy a used car and not expect to drive it home? No. We wouldn't expect you to buy a used machine and not be able to use it.
Here's how we do it at Perry:
1. Reliability. We buy quality used equipment that works. We buy from major chemical and pharmaceutical companies. The equipment has been maintained and serviced and we know what it's been used for. Once it reaches our warehouse, our in-house engineers test it themselves and you can inspect it or arrange for a 3rd party to inspect it. If for whatever reason you can't, we will add a video on YouTube for you to see it running.
2. Cost. Generally savings of 50-60% against the cost of new and reduces depreciation numbers.
3. Delivery. If it's in stock and you don't need to make any modifications, then you can literally take it away.
4. Sale or Return. If you're not sure it will work for you, take the item on a sale or return basis. You use the machine in your production and make sure it can do what you need it to. If it doesn't then we'll take it back. This is definitely not something you can do with new!
5. We have an in-house engineering team so we can test and certify machines for you and we welcome you to inspect this.
The only time we can't help is if we haven't got the right machine for you in stock. But, we might just have an alternative! Keep checking our inventory on our website www.perryprocess.co.uk or we can generally find it for you using our comprehensive market intelligence.
We'd love to hear about your past experiences buying used equipment, good or bad, or why you've never bought used equipment. Please post your comments below.

Read About: Tanks
What is a Tank?
The term tank usually refers to any vessel that is used for mixing chemicals and other liquids or just for storage. A mixing tank is a container that is used to blend several components together. In most manufacturing facilities, a mixing tank is used to prepare materials that will be used in production. Large containers of raw materials are placed into a large mixing tank and are blended into a smooth mix that can be used to produce a plethora of materials. In a bakery environment, a mixing vessel will contain flour, yeast and water, all of which are taken in specific amounts from various supply systems and placed into the larger vessel to be mixed.

The material that a mixing tank is manufactured from can range from polymers to steel of all types. Typically, within the manufacturing industry, the steel material used is stainless steel. In certain applications fiberglass/fiberglass reinforced plastic, plastic, aluminium, metal alloys as well as glass-lined can be used. Stainless steel is often used in the creation of a mixing tank due to the ease of clean-up as well as the smooth surface of the product. Copper is sometimes used in the making of a mixing tank, however, due to copper's tendency to react adversely to certain chemicals it is used only in specific applications.

The common characteristics of a tank include
vertical orientation or horizontal orientation, rating for high pressure
or atmospheric pressure, agitated for mixing or purely storage. They can be glass-lined
for harsh, corrosive chemical storage or mixing. Glass-lined tanks are used to store or mix chemicals that corrode alloy
surfaces.

USETEC: World summit for used technology in 2013
22nd – 24th April 2013
Cologne, Germany
USETEC, formerly known as RESALE,
is an annual exhibition for the used machinery & equipment industry held in
Cologne, Germany. This year it’s being
held from the 22nd – 24th April 2013.
We have been exhibiting at
this event for many years. It’s a chance for us to meet
face to face with customers as well as show them our range of
products and services. Many visitors and
exhibitors attend each year so we’ve built up some close working relationships
from attending USETEC.
This year our stand is situated in Hall 6, Stand
E-108/F-109. Julie Morris, our Sales Manager for Germany, will be at
our stand for the whole event and our Managing Director, Darren Bentham is
going to be there for the first few days.
If you would like to meet them there, get in touch to make an
appointment.
We’d love to have your
comments if you’ve either exhibited here before or if you will be exhibiting or
visiting this year. There are some things you simply cannot do online like shake
hands or speak face to face, so come along to our stand so we can meet you.
